Village Oreshets (station)
The village of Oreshets (station Oreshets) (Vidin district) is located in North-West Bulgaria and is part from municipality Dimovo. It is situated 18.12 km. South of town of Dimovo and 4 km. from the main road Vidin - Montana. Neighbouring villages are Oreshets, Medovnitsa and Skomlya. The railway station is of line Sofia - Mezdra - Vidin.
History: The village was established around the railway station of Belogradchik, during construction of the railway line between Vidin and Sofia in 1912. It is named to the nearest village Oreshets.
Sights: 3 km from the village, on the road to Belogradchik, is located the cave "Zhivanina dupka" (Zhivanina hole). According to the archaeologists people lived there 1.6 million years ago. There are still archaeological researches.
