Village Staropatitsa
The village of Staropatitsa (Vidin district) is located in North-West Bulgaria and is part from municipality Kula. It is ситуатед 13.18 km. South of town of Kula. Adjacent to the village of Staropatitsa are villages of Brankovtsi, Poletkovtsi and Rakovitsa. Through the village passes the river of Dobryanov dol and nearby is situated the dam of Poletkovtsi that is suitable for recreation and fishing.
History: According to one version the village name derives from "Stara" ("Old") and "paditsa" because once the village had an inn where travelers arrived so tired that they fell (in Bulgarian "padam") to sleep directly.
The local villagers have migrated from the Teteven region.

- The village is located on the territory of a former coral reef seas. The river can be found fossilized coral.
- There are various archaeological findings around the village where there were Roman and Turkish villages and a Roman fortress.
