Village Gumoshtnik

The Village of Gumoshtnik is located in North-Western Bulgaria. It is included in Municipality Troyan (Lovech District).
It is situated at 499 meters above sea level in Troyan mountains, around 20 km from town of Troyan and 15 km from Apriltsi. This is the village with the widest horizon in Bulgaria.
The climate is temperate continental with pronounced rock influence. Above average precipitation and snow cover is about 50 days a year.

Sights:
- The Church "St. Nikolay Letni" (1838) in Gumushtnik is part of Renaissance architectural complex of historical and artistic value. An important value in it is the monumental wood-carved iconostasis, similar to the iconostasis in the Troyan Monastery.
- A religious school founded in 1829 and later converted to secular. Today at the first floor of the school is located a collection that tells the history of the village.
- An Unique monument to the victims of the Titanic (eight of victims are from village of Gumushtnik) is located in the churchyard.
- Numerous mounds in the region are proof that the region of Gumushtnik is inhabited since ancient times.
