Village Balkanets
The village of Balkanets (Lovech District) is located in North-Western Bulgaria and is included in Municipality Troyan. It is situated at the foot of the Stara planina mountain, just 5 km away from the muncipal town of Troyan, 40km from district center town of Lovech, 8km from the ski resort Beklemeto, 15km from hot mineral springs in villages of Shipkovo and Chiflik. The region is distinctive for its ecologically clean nature, clear mountain streamlets, fresh air, unique rock formations and caves. There are lots of tourist attractions (Troyan Monastery, natural landmarks, eco-routes). Area near the village of Balkanets is also suitable for hunting (wide variety of game - dears, wolves, wild pigs) and fishing.
