Municipality Apriltsi

The Apriltsi municipality is located in North-Western Bulgaria in Lovech District. The Municipality consists of 1 town (municipal center Apriltsi) and 6 villages. The center of the Municipality is at a distance of 200 km from Sofia and 24 km to the east of Troyan town. Apriltsi town is at 500 - 600 m altitude above sea level, in the foot of the northern slopes of the Central Balkan Range. Forests occupy 46% of this area and are a major natural resource of the Municipality. Oak, beech and coniferous forests prevail. Another valuable resource of Apriltsi is the rivers taking their source from the high mountain slopes, with large water runoff and good drinking properties of the water. Tourism is a business priority for the Municipality. Aprilsti town has been declared a resort of local importance; there are numerous recreation facilities in it.
Apriltsi offers its guests opportunities for fishing, mountaineering, horse riding, cycling, swimming, tennis, skiing, numerous tourist routes and rich hunting facilities, fascinating spots for picnics and beaches along the rivers.
