Village Manolovo

Village of Manolovo, Pavel BanyaThe village of Manolovo is located in South-Eastern Bulgaria. It is part of Pavel banya Municipality, Stara Zagora District. It is situated in the heart of the Valley of Roses, at 500 m above sea level. Until 1984 it was known under the name of Malko selo. The territory of village belongs to a favorable climatic and vegetation zone good for the growing of roses, lavender and tobacco. There is a functioning factory for essential oil distillation. The Sofia - Bourgas highway and railroad, the shortest cut from the capital to the coast, run through the village of Manolovo. There are convenient bus and train connections to Kazanluk, Karlovo, Pavel Banya, Sofia and Plovdiv.
There are remains of a Roman fortress to the west of Manolovo and excavations of an ancient Roman church to the southwest of the village.
