Municipality Rakovski

The Rakovski municipality is located in central southern Bulgaria in Plovdiv region. On North and northeast the municipality borders onBrezovo municipality, easton Bratya Daskalovi municipality, southon Sadovo municipality andwest on municipalities Maritza and Kaloyanovo. The municipal centeris city of Rakovski known as thetown with the highest percentage of population who profess Catholicism (56%).
Rakovski municipality has importantgeographic situation. The territory of the municipality iscrossedby Trakiahighwayand main railway road No8: Sofia -Plovdiv -Bourgas, connecting the Black Sea with Western Europe. Anotherimportant road that passes through the municipality is Plovdiv - Rakovski - Brezovo - Shipka. The territory of the village of Striama is passed of the main gas pipeline.
