The village of Medkovets (Montana district) is located in North-West Bulgaria. It is center of Medkovets municipality. The village is situated 40.68 km. north of the regional center of town of Montana. Neighbour village are Slivoviik and Rasovo. Dam of Kozorovets is situated near by and it is is suitable for fishing.

History: The village was founded in the first half of the 18th century. The version for the origin of its name is connected with a legend that once there were honey (in Bulgarian "med") hollow.
