Medkovets Municipality is located in North-West Bulgaria, in the Danubian Plain 25 km to the southeast of the town of Lom and 27 km to the northwest of Montana, the district center. The relief is flat-hilly. Medkovets is an ancient village with centuries of historical development. The region is rich in archeological monuments from 8th-6th c. B.C. There are traces from pre-historic villages in the Medkovo fields - in the Lipena Locality around 5 km to the west of the Pchelinete Locality and in the Glania Geran Locality. The St. Paraskeva Church was built in 1859 and has been declared a monument of culture.
