The Lyubimets municipality is located in southeastern part of Haskovo District (South-Central Bulgaria). To the east it borders on Svilengrad municipality and the Republic of Greece, to the south - on Ivaylovgrad municipality, and to the west, on Madjarovo and Harmanli municipalities. The municipality features a very favorable geographic location as a transport junction. The international road Е-80 connecting Western and Central Europe through Sofia, Plovdiv, Haskovo, Lyubimets and Svilengrad with Istanbul, the Middle East, Asia and North Africa, passes through the municipality. The Maritsa highway running in the same direction will also pass through municipality of Lyubimets. The railway line from Western and Central Europe through Sofia, Plovdiv, Dimitrovgrad, Lyubimets to Svilengrad, Istanbul, and the Middle East, also passes through Lyubimets.
The Municipality consists of municipal center town of Lubimets and 9 villages. All villages in the municipality have road connections both to the municipal and the regional center.
