Village Dobrina
The village of Dobrina is located in North-East Bulgaria. It is part of Provadia Municipality, Varna District. Dobrina is situated south of the town of Provadia, on the Varna – Devnya – Manastir – Provadia road.
In the past Dobrina was a rich settlement with interesting history. Here there are many Thracian burial mounds, ruins of Thracian and Roman settlements. During the 16th century the village of Dobrina has been the center of a big Dubrovnik colony. The unique stone church "St. Theodore" from the XVI-XVII centuries is located in the village. Many bones – evidence for a massacre of the population during the invasion of the Turks were found in the church.
Dobrina is famous as the chestnuts village. The picturesque location of the village and its rich cultural and historical past make it an attractive place for recreation and tourism.
