Village Stokite

The village of Stokite is located in North-Central Bulgaria. It is part of Sevlievo Municipality, Gabrovo District. It is situated in a mountainous area, at 403 meters above sea level.
The village serves is one of the entrances to National Park "Central Balkan" and is a starting point to many peaks and interesting places in the Stara Planina Mountain. From here start different tourist itineraries.
From the village of Stokite the road forks. To the east, following the picturesque curves of the Rossitsa River, the road passes through a sequence of small neighborhoods and villages, the houses of many of which stay as they were built some 100-150 years ago. One still can see their solid stone foundations, beautiful wooden bow-windows and verandahs, with broad chimneys and slated roofs.
West of the village of Stokite starts another road, which enters deep into the mountain. Many clear water fountains and parking lots that give the tourists the opportunity to rest, while admiring the beauty of the snowbound peaks and the green slopes of the mountain.
