Village Chelyustnitsa
The village of Chelyustnitsa (Montana district) is located in North-West Bulgaria and is included in municipality Chiprovtsi. It is situated at the foot of Stara Planina mountain. The name Chelyustnitsa (from Bulgaruan word "chelyusti" - "jaw") coming after 1688 when in the area of "Baltin chukar" there was a massacre and 600 people (children, women, men) were executed from the Turks.
Sightseeing: Medieval castle in the "Gradiste" (4 kilometers north of Chelyustnitsa); medieval village and ancient, fortress Kaleto (2 kilometers south); Thechurch St. Paraskeva (built 1854. );
Near the village is located also one of the largest stone quarries in the world with capacity for 3000 years.
