Village Miykovtsi

The village of Miykovtsi is located in North-Central Bulgaria. It is part of Elena Municipality, Veliko Turnovo District. Two villages and four neighborhoods form the village: village of Miikovtci, village of Ignatovtsi and neighborhoods – Gorni Tanchevtsi, Topuzi, Visokovtsi (Uzuni) and Ralinovtsi. Two other neighborhoods have been included in the municipality – neighborhood Duhlevtsi, which was united to the village of Miikovtci forming the central part of the settlement and neighborhood Koniartsi (Atlarci), which has been erased from the list of settlements, because of migrating of the inhabitants.
The climatic conditions are excellent for recreation. The summer is sunny and cool and the winter is mild, with many snowy days. The scopes of the Eleno-Tvardishki Balkan give the beginning of many fast flowing rivers, in which mountain barbel and chub lives. In summer the rivers offer conditions for swimming and sun bathing and the meadows near them present excellent opportunities for camping. There is a magnificent eco track near the village of Miikovtsi by the river valley of Toplata River and a ski track that is 500 meters long equipped with a tow-lift.
