Village Fakia

The village of Fakia is located in South-East Bulgaria and is included in Municipality Sredets (Bourgas District). The village takes pride on eventful history and old renowned families. Several generations of the Bimbelov family lived here. The family tomb stones can be seen in the church of St. Demetrius, the only one of four which managed to survive until today. The Bimbelovs were descendants of the glorious voevoda (rebel leader) Momchil for who there are many legends and folk songs.
