Village Dujdovnitsa
The village of Dujdovnitsa (Kardjali District) is located in South-Central Bulgaria and is included in Municipality Kurdjali. It is situated in the Eastern Rhodopes mountain close to the regional center - town of Kardjali. This site near to the Bulgarian - Greek and Turkish border has its own unique rich historical past and many unexplored cultural and archaeological monuments and places. The medieval stone city of Perperikon is situated near by.
Nowadays the population of Dajdovnitsa is with Turkish ethnic self-consciousness. The major part of village have been deserted, as in 80`s hundred of families have been displaced in Turkey during so-calling "Big excursion" - a period in Bulgarian history when the communistic government force renaming of the citizens with Turkish names.
