Village Pirgovo
The village of Pirgovo is located in North-Central Bulgaria near Danube river. The village is included in Municipality Ivanovo (Rousse District). It is situated 16km south-west from district center city of Ruse. The origin of the name Pirgovo is the Greek word "pirgos" (castle/tower/citadel). There are ancient ruins at 3 km from the village. Main landmarks of the village of Pirgovo are: Danube port Pirgovo (currently is not operative but is favorite place for relax, bathing-beach, fishing and boating), Old cellar, Historical Monument located in the Church courtyard) and others.
