Village Kostenkovtsi

The village of Kostenkovtsi is located in North-Central Bulgaria. It is part of Gabrovo Municipality, Gabrovo District. It is huddled in a small valley between the foothills of the Sredna Stara Planina Mountain, just 14 km northeast of the town of Gabrovo. The slope, on which the village is situated, is completely oriented south, facing the mountain. The vast valley of the Danube River spreads north of the Minin chukar peak. The windows of every house in the village of Kostenkovci offer a spectacular panoramic view of the Balkan, which reveals a range of competing in regards of height mountain peaks and reaches the mountain ridge.
There are many small and big settlements in Bulgaria, which history has gifted with an affluent past. These settlements are especially proud of their heroes, chieftains and revolutionaries, glorified in true stories and legends of historical significance. The area has always been settled by pure Bulgarian population. One of the purest dialects of the Bulgarian language, which has been preserved through the centuries, is spoken here.
