Village Krupnik
The village of Krupnik (Blagoevgrad district) is located in South-West Bulgaria and is included in municipality Simitli. It is situated at northern mountain slope, in the foothills of the western part of Maleshevskata mountain (aka Krupnishka mountain), along the west side of the Struma River, 7 km southwestern direction from town of Simitli. The village can be reached by road passing under a bridge over the Struma River (located to the right of the main road).
Landmarks:
The remains of an ancient settlement and a medieval necropolis are found in the eastern part of the village; The church St. Archangel Michial built 1935 - this is the only church in Bulgarian that is dome, cruciform and nave shape in the same time; Krupnishkoto Gospel (from 16 century) - presented to the Rila Monastery, where it is stored today.
