Village Kavrakirovo

The village of Kavrakirovo (Blagoevgrad District) is located in South-West Bulgaria and is included in Municipality Petrich.  It is situated North-west from town of Petrich, close to Bulgaria`s borders with both Macedonia and Greece. The neighbor villages are Parvomay and Mihnevo. Until 1951 the name of the village was Orman then is was renamed to Simeon Kavrakirov. Nowadays one third of its inhabitants are of Gypsy origin. 
Kavrakirovo village lies in Petrich Valley (south foot of Ograzhden mountain). The river of Strumeshnitsa pass south from it.
