The Nevestino municipality is located in the farthest southwestern part of Bulgaria and along 40 km length of the border line with Macedonia. The territory of the municipality encompasses large parts of Ossogovska Mountain with highest peak of Belotok, 1,524 m, and the Pogled Mountain with highest peak Pogled, 966 m. The administrative center, Nevestino village, is located on the two banks of the Strouma River at an elevation of approximately 460 m above sea level. The natural sights at the teritory of Nevestino region that deserve special attention are: the reserve of black pine Gabra in the municipality - its area is 895,000 sq.m, it is located on the territory of Tsarvaritsa village; the waterfall near the St. Yana church in Smolichino village; the mineral water springs in Nevestino village one of which is used as sanitation water, and the other one has proven curative properties for healing and prevention of gastro-intestinal and gall bladder and liver diseases and others.
