The town of Kocherinovo (Kyustendil District) is located in South-West Bulgaria, in the Western foothills of the Rila mountain, near the rivers "Struma" and "Rilska reka", about 280 meters above sea level. The town is sitauted 3 kilometers away from the main road E-79 Sofia-Kulata and 25 kilometers from the Rila Monastery. It is center of Kocherinovo municipality.
The settlement was founded in the 18th century. The first school in Kocherinovo was discovered in 1864 and the community center "Probuda" was established in 1919. With its rich natural resources combined with well-preserved historical monuments and town proximity to the Rila Mountain and Rila Monastery, Kocherinovo offers good living conditions and attracts visitors from Bulgaria and abroad.
