The village of Palatovo (Kyustendil district) is located in South-West Bulgaria and is included in municipality Dupnitsa. It is situated at the foot of the hill "Mirchov rid "along the two small rivers. The village received its name from the palaces (in Bulgarian palat) of kings Aron and Samuil, located in the area of Tsarichina. Archaeological finds discovered around are evidence of the fact that the region was inhabited even Roman times. There were found copper plate - diploma of a Roman soldier and coins from the Roman rulers Yustiniyan and Theodosius the Great. Sights: Church "St. Theodore Tiron" (built in 1907)
