The village of Djulyunitsa (Veliko Turnovo District) is located in North-Central Bulgaria and is included in Municipality Lyaskovets. Its is situated around 27km away from famous town of Veliko Tarnovo. There are some rivers and dams around and the river of Djulyunitsa which pass through the village. Dzhulyunitsa is an old village dating back to 13-14 century. It disappeared in the beginning of the Turkish yoke and has been re-inhabited in 16-17 century. South of the village there are traces of a middle-age fortress and settlement. Several finding have been made on the territory of the village: the oldest human bones in Europe, a Neolithic village mound, Thracian funeral, Roman citadel etc. more Djulyunitsa is famous wit its vegetable production and as the birthplace of the Bulgarian sumo wrestler Kaloyan Mahlyanov – popular in Japan as Kotooshu.
