The Teteven municipality is located in North-Central Bulgaria in Lovech District. The Municipality consists of 1 town (Town of Teteven) and 25 villages. Teteven Municipality is situated in the northwestern part of the Middle Balkan Range. The relief is mountainous and semi-mountainous, strongly undulating. The altitude above sea level varies from 340 to 2,198 m. The highest point is Vezhen peak, the third highest peak in the Balkan Range, located in the eastern part of the Zlatitsa - Teteven Mountain. The climate is moderate continental. A characteristic feature is the large percentage of forest areas - 68%. Teteven Municipality is the owner of approximately 190,000,000 sq. m of good quality forests. In the Central Balkan Range National Park 21 worldwide endangered vertebrata are preserved. The Ribaritsa mountainous climatic resort is at 12 km distance from Teteven and offers wonderful setting for recreation and business meetings, options for skiing, cycling, photo safari, mountain hiking with a qualified guide, entertainment by fishing. There is large potential in the villages of Cherni Vit, Golyam Izvor, Glozhene.
